Update to Incident in Moss Side on 15/09/2025

Dear Resident,

You may be aware of an incident that occurred yesterday on Monton Street in Moss Side. Police were called to Monton Street just after 16:30HRs to reports of a disturbance. Tragically, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 15 year old boy sadly lost his life as a result of a stabbing.

I would like to stress that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public.

A large scale investigation is ongoing which currently sees one person arrested. However this does not mean the end of the investigation and I ask anyone who may have information to contact ourselves via 101 or live chat quoting log 2327-150925.

Finally, and most importantly, our thoughts and hearts go out to the victims family and friends at this extremely difficult time and we are supporting the family in what capacity we can.
